Freshman Laurier Crook is currently on the varsity cross country and frosh track team at Cerritos High School. Crook started running track at the age of 12, but took a break due to COVID. She didn’t start officially running again until the age of 14, when she joined the cross country team. The beginning of her running journey and motivation to run track was because of her father.

“My dad ran track in high school and was very skilled.”

She joined in the 5th grade and, like her father, became good at it and started to love it. There is always room for improvement for running and Crook’s secret is practice. Her favorite thing about track and cross country is that she can keep pushing herself to the limit in order to become faster. Overall, Crook has a passion for running and, even though she hasn’t been running for too long, her passion for improvement keeps her moving.
