The Cerritos High Drama program presented Radium Girls, their latest production with showtimes from October 23 through 26. Based on a true story, the show followed the women who fought for labor rights in America, a story that the actors and actresses brought to life.
In the play, female factory workers contracted radiation poisoning that caused serious repercussions to their health. Their search for justice was depicted by our very own dons who undoubtedly captivated the audience members who came out to support them.
The play followed Grace Fryer, played by Cassidy Buck, Senior, and her legal battle against US Radium Corporation. Cassidy celebrated after a performance, “My favorite part of the experience is getting to be on stage with all these wonderful people and really getting to embrace the characters that we all get to play.”
Irene Torres, Senior, who played Irene Rudolph, commented “Getting to learn about this show and these girls really helped me understand the tragedy that actually happened and be able to showcase this on stagw. I’m so thankful for this cast and crew for being so encouraging and loving.”
Radium girls was engaging entertainment that showcased the talent of our award-winning drama program with yet another successful play under their belts. If you’re interested in seeing another production, look forward to seeing Elf Jr. this winter. Congratulations to the drama dons on yet another amazing show!
