For Kindness Week, taking place from Jan. 27 to Jan. 31, the kind-hearted dons of the Cerritos High School Leadership team showcased their gratitude and support to the children of Cerritos Elementary. On arrival, our Dons were greeted by tons of excited students, ready to pass out various charming gifts such as kindness cards and vibrant bracelets. The elementary students talked to the high schoolers, and even showed a video to the team displaying what they thought of Kindness Week.
After the exchange of kind words and pretty presents, Mrs B. spoke on the fifth and sixth grader’s perspective on Kindness Week. When asked what it’s like to host friendship week, Mrs. B stated, “It is usually a pretty big thing here where we try to do as many kind acts for the students as possible.” When speaking to these fifth/sixth graders, they said “Kindness is when you help others, support them in any way, and care for them even in their harder times.”
The trip was a success and left the leadership team having the best time being able to be a part of their kindness week. For Kindness Week next year, both teams hope to go big or go home in opportunities.
