The sun shined bright on Cerritos High School’s proud star performers in celebration of the upcoming football game against Cypress at Rants Stadium. On Aug. 22, 2025, in the quad from 10:23 a.m. to 10:54 a.m., students crowded around the colorful ’90s-themed stage, as the rally featured a multitude of our proud Don talents, as well as confident audience participants who partook in fun games and competitions set up by our hard-working ASB staff.
The Regiment of Gold Marching Band began with a fast-paced performance, as their beats and bumps echoed through the quad. Timpanis, snares, and basses boomed with intensity, getting Dons pumped for the rest of the rally and the football game to come.
Cerritos High School’s Dance Team took the stage, where students stood in awe as the dancers performed their hip-hop routine to “Way Bigger” by Don Toliver.
Our star athletes of the Varsity Football Team were introduced to the crowd, including Head Coach Demel Franklin, who made a simple, stern promise: “We will not disappoint. Go Dons!”
Students were then called to the stage for the ’90s Dress-Up Day Competition, where they were judged by ASB officials. Sporting a blue-and-white jersey and a stylish backwards cap, senior Kaylee Cruz made her class proud and ultimately won the competition, earning some class spirit points too.
Two participants from each class took their seats for a game of Musical Chairs, circling the quad to “Oops!… I Did It Again” by Britney Spears. As students were harmoniously eliminated, junior Samantha Gomez ultimately won using quick reactions and rhythm.
This rally was just the start of football season, with many more rallies and games to come. With the famous Jug Week beginning on Aug. 25, stay tuned as the football team will soon compete again—this time, for the notorious Big Golden Jug.
