The Cerritos High Pep Squad held a pep rally in the East Gym during lunch to announce the 2022-2023 Football and Volleyball teams.

Students were welcomed with homemade posters with their class name on them held by the energized cheer team. The rally started off with a choreographed dance by the Pep Squad seniors, which then led to the introduction of both the Football and Volleyball teams.

The team captains from each team went against each other in a competition of fruit by the foot roll-ups. They had to each eat their fruit roll up with no hands, and whoever ate it the fastest won.

The team captains of the volleyball team won the challenge.

Three other games were played, including tug of war, tic-tac-toe, and a spirit game. The rally ended with the singing of the alma mater.

“It was a great way to get people excited for the season.” Junior volleyball player, Isabella Dantzler, said.
