Athletes Of The Month

Athletic Director (AD) and Girls’ Soccer Coach Robert Adams is proud of the CHS tradition “Athlete of the Month.” He is the man behind the program. Monthly, he sends out requests to all head coaches asking student nominees for this title.

Depending on how many are submitted and sports in season, decisions are made between Adams and the other AD Coach Todd Denhart. The information Athlete of the Month’s winners are released to the school and posted on social media.

Below you will find those who were recognized for August and September.

“I’m above all grateful to be named Athlete of the Month. I wouldn’t be the athlete I am today without the support of my coaches and teammates.”

“Becoming athlete of the month is an honor because it shows my hard work and dedication to one of the sports I love.”

“I’m pretty happy to get an athlete of the month. It shows how much work we have been putting in as a whole team by improving.”

Sheeza Adil, Marketer

A senior at Cerritos High School, Sheeza Adil is in her first year of journalism. She is passionate about marketing and medicine . In her free time she likes to hang out with family and friends whenever she can.

Kate Kwon, Illustrator

Kate Kwon is a senior who joined Journalism to take part in an elective where she can get more insight on school events. She hopes to utilize her role as an illustrator to direct the interests of the students in this school to the newspapers and the journalism class as a whole. Her interests include drawing, playing video games, listening to music, environmental science, and hanging out with friends.
