The Boys Varsity Soccer team played another winning game against Whitney Varsity this Tuesday. It was a landslide score of 3-0 leaving the team with high hopes for making it even closer to CIF later this week.
The boys quickly made their first goal within the first 15 minutes of the match thanks to junior Alex Andazola. Most of the first half was spent moving up and down the field, tirelessly fighting against out-of-bound balls and Whitneys’ team.
During the second half of the game, two more goals were made. The first was by junior Andres Alverez, whose success was met with cheers. Goalie Saksham Thapa recounts “It filled the team with more energy when they saw the scoreboard.”
The final point was made by junior Chris Alvarez. Cerritos remained victorious throughout the entire game from start to finish with the help of teammates like #12 Issac Gutierrez who successfully saved the ball from being kicked out of bounds and got it back across the midline to score Cerritos yet another point.
Don’t miss out on their next game which will be held on Friday against Oxford, leaving the team one step closer to making CIF. Lets go Cerritos soccer Dons!
