On March 4, 2026, Cerritos High School held its Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Mini Art Festival in celebration of VAPA Week, located in the quad during lunch . Throughout the event, artists shared their original projects to students and staff. Meanwhile, students could partake in fun activities and win free prizes.
Various creative booths offered students hand-on activities and freebies. The Ceramics class hosted a “Quad Pot” project, in which participants added clay for the collaborative piece. Artists at the tattoo station handed out stunning temporary tattoos to students.
Digital artists also showcased their original class projects and assignments, created throughout the school year. Additionally, they also sold custom pin badges featuring their own designs and artwork of well-known characters. “Making a pin of a popular show is great for me because I enjoy the series as much as I enjoy making art of it,” said digital artist senior Isabell Pan, “but I want to give them away so others can enjoy the same things that I do, too.”
Alongside that, the traditional artists also set up a booth where participants colored and attached paper flowers to a decorated board, creating a vibrant flower wall. Beside the booth, they displayed a paper tree featuring all of the artists’ names on the trunk and student volunteers’ messages on the leaves.
Lastly, the music program provided a giant xylophone for students to play and the drama class displayed their colorful costumes. Nearby, two separate drawing boards were also available for students to show off their artistic abilities.
