On March 5, ASB hosted its “Craft a Minion” event, where dons were able to display their arts-and-crafts skills while fighting for a righteous cause in the quad . Students were taught to fold and create heart-shaped Minions out of paper with various colors and faces. The Minions are planned to be hung up around campus, decorating its hallways and walls.
This year’s theme is inspired by the Minions. ASB intends to raise awareness for the drive by holding events daily in the quad during lunch. The event is continuing a two-week-long event called “Cash 4 Cancer” drive, starting from March 2 to March 13, aims to raise money and awareness for cancer support.
The objective of the drive is to raise $3,000 in support of Blood Cancer United, also known as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. To reach this goal, ASB members are selling tickets until March 13, offering all students the chance to win a variety of prizes.
Tickets are available for $5 each or two for $10. Students who donate $20 receive five tickets, a guaranteed front-of-the-line lunch pass and the opportunity to choose a song for the lunchtime DJ. Available prizes for tickets include Oawala Water Bottles, Labubus, Smiskis, NeeDohs and more.
Anyone who missed Thursday’s event can still participate in the coming activities. There is still one full week left in the “Cash 4 Cancer” drive. Anyone curious can follow the official ASB Instagram account, @cerritos_asb, where future events and school news will be posted.
