Here’s the Details: Prom Sets the Scene in Tiana’s Bayou

Get ready to create countless memories under the dazzling lights at prom, upperclassmen! Seniors and juniors are able to attend the annual Cerritos High School Prom after purchasing a ticket from the ASB window. The event will be held on March 21, 2026, from 7 to 11 p.m., located at the Ovation Square in Long Beach.

All students must abide by the school dress code and are required to wear formal attire; it is also suggested to follow this prom’s color code as well. The theme is “Tiana’s Magical Bayou,” so light green, purple, or white tuxedos and dresses would shine.

Ovation Square is a regal space with three whole stories open to students. Taking inspiration from “Princess and the Frog,” the venue will be adorned with bayou lush, magical flora, and twinkling lights. An LED system is also implemented, so students can dance the night away with colorful lights all around.

“Students can expect elegance and twinkling lights all around at the venue,” said junior treasurer Alice Tam

Want a break from dancing? Don’t worry. This prom offers a plentiful amount of entertainment, including character artists, casino tables, and tarot card readings that foretell your fate. Online video games, basketball hoops, and a pretty photobooth will all be provided at the event as well.

“The tarot card readings definitely stand out, as our school has never done that before,” said junior vice president Christina Zawaideh

Appetizers, desserts, and drinks will also be provided free of charge. Some notable foods are varieties of chicken wings, giant charcuterie displays, streusel bars of five different flavors, and much more. After Tuscan Baked Pepperoni Pizza Dip, have a double chocolate brownie, and finally wash it down with an ice-cold lemonade.

Bringing liquids are prohibited at the venue, including perfumes, drinks, and lip gloss. Students will not be able to retrieve confiscated items after the event ends. To make the security bag-checking process quick and easy, it is encouraged for students to bring clear bags to the site.

This prom is going to be incredible, like the last one, if not even better. Step into the mystical scene of the Prom of 2026: dance with friends, have a feast, or just take in the atmosphere. Come in your best fit, bring your school ID card, and let it be a night to remember. Have fun, Dons!
